The Daisy follows soft the Sun, And when his golden walk is done, Sits shyly at his feet. He, walking, finds the flower near. “Wherefore, marauder, art thou here? “Because, sir, love is sweet!”

We are the flower, Thou the sun! Forgive us, if as days decline, We nearer steal to Thee,— Enamoured of the parting west, The peace, the flight, the amethyst, Night’s possibility!

"summary": "This poem explores themes of admiration and longing through the metaphor of a daisy following the sun. The daisy's gentle pursuit of the sun symbolizes a deep affection and the desire to be close. It highlights the notion of love's sweetness and innocence, as the flower seeks the warmth and presence of the sun, especially as the day comes to an end. The poem also reflects on the cycle of day and night, suggesting a broader contemplation of life's transitions and the mysteries of night, evoking a sense of peace and hope in the natural progression from day to dusk.",
